Travelling by road
Kippford is on the Colvend Coast road off the A710 between Colvend and Dalbeattie. Travelling in either direction you will see signs for Kippford. Turn onto the road and follow it until you reach the waterfront. Keep going until you reach Rosemount on the left-hand side, just opposite the wee pier. (Please note if travelling via New Abbey, the road can be narrow and winding in places, and although a lovely scenic coastal route, it is recommended for daylight hours)
Travelling by ferry
From Stranraer, take A75 to Castle Douglas. From Castle Douglas take A745 to Dalbeattie then A710 (Solway Heritage Trail), to Barnbarroch. Turn right approximately 100 yards past Barnbarroch for Kippford.
